Welcome to the Houston County Clerk birth and death certificate online ordering system. Online requests will be processed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8:15 am to 4:15 pm.
Please note the following:
- Birth records for Houston County are available back to 1882
- If your birth occurred outside of Houston County, but within the State of Texas, you will be issued an Abstract Record which is still a certified legal document
- If you were not born within the State of Texas we are not able to access your birth certificate. You will need to contact the state that you were born.
- Death Records are available only for decedents who pass within the Houston County limits.
Attention:
The State Office is requiring that all applicants upload a form of identification when submitting their application. Click on the button below for information on the forms of identification acceptable. When applying online, we only accept PRIMARY forms of identification (Group A).

If you select Priority Shipping and would like to receive the Tracking Number, please email tmeadows@co.houston.tx.us and provide your order number. The County Clerk's Office will email you the Tracking Number.
You will be asked to select the method of receiving the certificates during the application. You will be notified by us once we have processed your application and the certificates are out for mail or ready for pickup.
